Tra Mare Stelle e Magia: a Festival for the Territory
The Itinerant Music Festival “Tra Mare, Stelle e Magia” started in 2017 with the goal of promoting the territory of Sardinia by proposing events that, through music, exalt the architectural beauties, the historical sites, and the landscapes that make this island unique. Thanks to the effort of the Academia Nugoresa de Bonas Artese, of many international artists, and to the support of institutions and private contributors, the Festival has become an important reality on the cultural scene of Sardinia.
An International Festival
“Tra Mare, Stelle e Magia” is an international reality. Over the years, united by the universal language of music, artists from Spain, Portugal, Italy, USA, Armenia, and Korea have joined forces and contributed with their talent to the success of the artistic activity of the Festival.
A Festival for the People
In the difficult historical period we are living in, the education to the appreciation of art is crucial. Through its events, the Festival aims to introduce to music a varied audience that includes both the visitors who discover the beauty of the island during the summer season and the inhabitants of Sardinia, who are presented the opportunity to enjoy high quality concerts.
“Seeing the Sea of Sardinia is a unique experience. The water meets the land in a blend of colors and sounds, peace and tempest, creating some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes. The sea has inspired many painters, writers, and composers. For Sardinia, this water belt is at the same time a blessing and a curse.”
“Sardinian nights are special: silence frames the sounds of nature that take the scene. Nights are painted in a vivid darkness that makes stars shine brighter and in which the moon seems almost as a little sun. Sardinian nights can be livened by music and dance, and give the impression of lasting forever.”
...and the Magic
“Magic has always been part of the Sardinian identity. Sardinia is a mysterious land where, ever since olden times, the inhabitants have cultivated rites connected with the seasons, the land, and the water. Magic is in the beauty of the landscapes, in the tales passed on from generation to generation, in the legends of the fairies whose tombs are carved in the stone. In Sardinia, the veil between magic and reality is thinner than anywhere else.”
